Gadsden Cumberland Church is...

a PLACE to WORSHIP

Our God knows we need at least one day during the week to rest from work and worldly concerns. We help each other focus our attention on Him by singing songs of praise, by hearing His message of unconditional love and forgiveness, by giving thanks, by praying for others, and by returning to Him a portion of what He has given us. We receive His blessings in spiritual renewal, refreshment, and fortification for the week to come.

a PLACE for LEARNING

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the only infallible rule for faith and practice. We encourage each other to study His Word daily by providing Sunday School classes for all ages, small group Bible studies, and special group learning opportunities. Our teachers and leaders are dedicated to the belief that the Bible is relevant to life in today's world and critical to a Christian’s walk.

a PLACE for FRIENDSHIPS

Our society is becoming more and more fragmented. We've all heard words like poding and virtual loners. But the truth is we all need face to face relationships with real people who have something in common with us and can understand our concerns. Our church can be just such a place for you while using technological tools like this web page and e-mail to extend our friendships into the work week.

a PLACE to SERVE

Just as Jesus came into the world "not to be ministered unto, but to minister..." we believe our task is to reach out to others, ministering to those in need. God has blessed us in many ways in our service to others. There is no greater joy to be found than in giving time and talents to those in need.

a PLACE to BELONG

Should you feel that God has brought you to us and you would like to join us in our journey with Him we have three ways of welcoming you. All three normally occur during a regular worship service.

  1. If you have never professed Jesus as your Savior and Lord and been baptized in His name we would ask you to take that first very important step into His love. Jesus said, "Whoever acknowledges me before men I will also acknowledge them before my Father in heaven." (Matthew 10:32) Professing Jesus as your Savior and Lord opens the door for the lifelong gift of God’s Spirit with you. The Holy Spirit is a Christian’s Helper!
  2. If you have made your profession of faith in Jesus and been baptized that act has lifelong strength and need not be revisited. As a professing Christian we would receive you into our family by the transfer of your membership from your previous Christian church, asking you to renew your vows to God.
  3. Some people might come to join us after many years of absence from their former church. That lengthy time and even distance might make a transfer of your membership almost impossible. In that situation we would welcome you by a rededication of your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and a verbal renewal of your Christian vows.

You will find our church to be a medium sized growing church. We are located on busy highway 278 on the edge of East Gadsden. As you enter the Worship Center you will be met by friendly greeters who will help you get settled. We are always happy to give our guests "tours" of the facility because at Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian you are far more than a visitor, you are a special guest in our home. We will always treat you as such, never imposing on you or embarrassing you in any way. We are just happy you have chosen us as your place to worship God.

Should you decide to join us you will find the experience of becoming a member of the Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church a wonderful thing. You will find us to immediately be trusted brothers and sisters in Christ always available to help you on your Christian journey. WELCOME!
